The West Virginia Family Engagement Center (WVFEC) program is based on current, evidence- based practices that engage families, educators, and community members in the educational process to enhance student academic achievement. This initiative offers families a variety of opportunities to participate in their child’s learning both inside and outside of school.
The West Virginia Family Engagement Center, West Virginia
Department of Education, Family Engagement Specialists, and
statewide partners are connecting with families to support their
children’s learning and development; encourage positive self
image and a “can do” spirit in their children; advocate for improved
learning opportunities for children at their school; and model
lifelong learning and enthusiasm for education. This SEAMless
approach to family engagement in West Virginia schools creates a culture of strong families, and ultimately, stronger students.
Our Resilience-Building services focus on
supporting students and families through
trauma-sensitive environments and
resilience-building strategies.
Our Foundation Building services focus
on creating a strong foundation for family engagement and
educational success through various
support programs.
